We recognize that financial barriers can make it difficult for some patients to access and benefit from KAP. We encourage you to explore the following options.
1. Understand Your Cost:
Use our quick cost calculator to get a personalized estimate based on your insurance, chosen KAP modality, and treatment plan.
Estimate your total KAP cost here.
2. In-Network and Out-of-Network Insurance Benefits:
Journey Clinical is in-network with a growing list of insurance providers. If you have in-network coverage, your intake and follow-up medical appointments will be covered by insurance. You’ll only be responsible for the cost of the medication and any applicable copay or coinsurance.
If we are not currently in-network with your plan, your KAP treatment may still be eligible for reimbursement, often up to 60–80%, if you have out-of-network benefits. See this article for more details, including how to determine your out-of-network coverage and request a superbill for reimbursement.
Want us to check your insurance coverage? Submit a request here. If you have any questions about your coverage, please email patient-billing@journey.clinic — we’re happy to help!
3. If you do not already have a Journey Clinical Member Therapist, we'll pair you with one who accepts your insurance.
There are two sets of costs to be aware of:
-
Journey Clinical medical appointment costs and medication
-
Psychotherapy session costs (read more about both here)
Even if Journey Clinical is not in-network for your medical appointments, we can match you with a therapist who accepts your insurance for psychotherapy sessions (for prospective patients who are not already working with a Journey Clinical Member Therapist).
Working with an in-network therapist can significantly reduce the overall cost of KAP.
4. Psycholytic (low-dose) KAP
Psycholytic therapy uses low doses of ketamine to support psychotherapy. While standard ketamine doses typically facilitate a quiet, inward experience, psycholytic doses enable you to continue conversing with your therapist throughout the dosing session.
5. Self-Guided Dosing Sessions or Group Dosing Sessions:
In addition to individual (one-on-one) KAP sessions, Journey Clinical also supports self-guided and group KAP modalities.
- Self-guided dosing sessions involve your therapist checking in with you before and after you self-administer ketamine, but your therapist does not stay with you (physically or virtually) for the duration of the dosing session. This reduces the cost of the dosing session. You will need to have a chaperone physically present with you for the duration of the dosing session, and you will still record your vitals. We require that you have an integration session with your therapist between each dosing session.
- Group KAP can be a powerful modality for healing in community and can reduce the overall cost of KAP. For group dosing sessions — which can take place in-person or virtually — you will join with other KAP clients. At least one Journey Clinical therapist is present for every 4 client participants. Some therapists lead group preparation & integration therapy sessions before and after the group dosing sessions, while other therapists offer individual integration & preparation sessions, and group dosing sessions.
7. Veteran Discount:
If you are a veteran, Journey Clinical is proud to offer a discount on medical appointments and medication.
