Fertility and Pregnancy:
There is limited safety data on ketamine use in pregnancy or it’s effects on fertility. Therefore it is advised to wait to start KAP if possible, or use an alternative medication that has safety data available in order to make an educated choice. If the benefit of using ketamine outweighs the risks, per provider and patient discussion, this will be a case by case, collaborative decision.
Breastfeeding:
You can still breast feed if you meet criteria for KAP, but would need to feed via pumped milk or not breast feed for at least 24 hours after ketamine use; We'd recommend pumping and dumping the day of KAP. Please discuss specific individualized instructions with your prescriber.
